Types of TDP Lamps
TDP lamps are controversial but effective medical devices offering you temporary pain relief and by stimulating the flow of blood to the area exposed to the lamp, diminish inflammation and helps in diminishing arthritic pain.
A TDP lamp emits far infrared rays or far infrared heat which are mineral specific to the minerals bonded on the heating plate of the device. These lamps have a timer, a head with heat reflector and a heating plate covered with a layer of minerals. The heat from a TDP lamp can reach up to 850 degree F and it starts to emit infrared rays which when combined with the power of the minerals have a beneficial effect upon the body. It supposedly boosts up the immunity system, repairs cells, revitalizes the vital force and rejuvenates the body. It is also used to treat 30 diseases in humans and in animals.
To use a TDP lamp, you only need to expose your skin to it for 15-20 minutes at a distance of some inches, the distance calculated by a pleasantly warm feeling. Too high a heating level and too near an exposed area to the heating plate can cause one unwanted burns.
There are different types of TDP lamps in the market today. From the original patented Chinese version invented by Mr. Gou Wenbin in 1978, we find many new diversifications in the original model being sold under descriptive and imaginative names and numbers of the models. Some of these diversifications are FIR lamps, FIR energizers and also as bio-spectrum lamps.
You also get some numbered models being sold under numbering like CQ-270A/B. CQ-33, CQ-222A/B/C/D, CQ-27, CQ-55A, CQ-12 etc. The original lamp built in 1978 is called 1.0 and now newer versions have versions with two heating heads. In 3.0 you have a digital timing clock instead of a manual timer. The average life span of a mineral metal plate is 1500 hours.
There are other versions and types of TDP lamps coming out in the market, with different mineral plate material combinations, higher and lower radiation emission rates and ranges as well as compactly designed bodies. Bio spectrum lamps not only have rays emitting infrared rays, but also have other rays of the spectrum in small doses being sent out, almost like tanning lamps.
Broad spectrum lamps differ from TDP lamps with having a 2-25 micron radiation range with a 7-11 micron peak value of radiations. These normally work for 10,000 hours when compared to the 1000 hr life of a TDP lamp’s mineral plate. This can be used by Massage Therapists, Sports Therapists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, MD Doctors, Physical Therapists, Naturopaths, Healthcare Professionals and Dentists to give temporary relief in cases of muscle strain and relaxation and joint stiffness.
TDP Multi Frequency Mineral Wave Lamps can be used for the treatment of back pain, chronic wounds, arthritis thyroid problems, joint pain, psoriasis chronic ulcer, herpes bronchitis,, asthma, diabetes, injuries and chronic gastritis .
TDP Table Lamps are smaller and more compact TDP lamps which has a mineral plate made up of 32 minerals.
Even though infrared lamps are just like TDP lamps in the fact that they also emit infrared rays, they are not being used for heat therapy. However you can use these lamps to heat up your rooms, or large surface areas in businesses like banks .An infrared lamp mainly consists of an infrared ray emitting incandescent bulb. These rays emitted from these lamps destroy surface bacteria on food while cooking it.
